Gertrude Kipper Obituary

Gertrude Kipper, born January 15, 1919, in Cleveland, Ohio, moved to Los Angeles in 1929 with her parents and sister. She graduated from Los Angeles High School and met the love of her life, Irvin Kipper, who predeceased her by six weeks. Gertrude was in perfect health, but without her beloved husband, she died of a broken heart. They had an enduring love for one another, a perfect partnership, weathering the separation of Irv's captivity as a Prisoner of War in a Nazi POW camp. Their marriage was a testament to true love and devotion. Gerta lived the last 63 of her 97 ½ years at her family home in West Los Angeles. She is survived by her sons Don (Vicki) and Robert (Carolyn) and grandchildren Andrew, Lily, Natalie and Elliott. Services are scheduled for Sunday, June 5 at 1:00 p.m., at Hillside Memorial Park, 6001 W. Centinela Ave, Los Angeles, CA 90045.
