I did not know Dr. Shadowen and learned of her death and background through the news media. I am just a little person in this world and I so appreciate even more her personal and professional commitment to public health and safety despite struggling to survive COVID-19. Her cause was not in vain. I am so sorry for your loss.

Rebecca saved Peggy's life by diagnosing her with Cdiff when no one else could help. David continued to treat Tim's brain tumor with utmost care and concern. We enjoyed talking "Arizona" with him. Rebecca was always kind and knowledgeable. She will be missed.

Dr. Shadowen was one of the most amazing people I have ever known. She is the reason I am alive today. Her knowledge and dedication literally saved my life. I have been her patient since 1989 and was a patient of Dr. Daivd's for 20 years. I believe I was her longest living HIV patient. My heart is broken for her family and knowing she died selflessly helping during this Pandemic. She is my Hero forever. How could I or anyone ever thank her or her family enough for her sacrifice.

My prayers and condolences are with you during this time.
Many of our residents were fortunate to be mentored by Dr. Shadowen. They will be better physicians for having had her as a teacher.

I was so terribly sorry to hear about Becky’s death. We were college and medical school friends. A group of us studied together in college, sometimes until 4 am at Denny’s restaurant, drinking coffee all night.
We spent first 6 months of medical school together (with David) in gross anatomy lab. Many late nights.
She had a wonderful laugh. She was dedicated to whatever project she was working on.
I’m sure she was a wonderful Christian, wife, mother, daughter, physician and community leader,
Rest In Peace ,Becky. You will never be forgotten.
My sincere condolences to her family

Becky, as I have always known her! One powerful Clarinet player and Band Student. Tenacious about playing every note, rhythmic pattern, dynamic, to the best of perfection. Played in Clarinet Duets, Trios, Quartets, and Clarinet Quintet for State Music Competition, and met every challenge with a classic performance. She was one of those Band Students I have always remembered through the years. And, I am so very proud of her distinguished career, and not the least bit surprised at her accomplishments. But it is more than all these, it was Becky the person, who she was on the inside that made all the difference. Knew her brother and her parents well, as they were always right there to support Becky, and her educational excellence! Her broad smile has always been one of her distinguishing attributes! Never once did she back down from any challenge, she met it head on, and stayed with it until it became resolved, or she else she wanted to know why it would not resolve! A precious soul who expressed herself well through the Music she played and made. Anyone can play notes. Becky turned the notes into Music and thus her life became a wonderful Symphony of Medicine! Thank you Becky for your journey! Thank you for all the smiles, joy and laughter you brought to and shared with many. His Eternal Peace... your Rams Band Director
