Edward J. Wynne, Jr. Peacefully passed away on 11/29/2018 with his three sons at his bedside. Ed was born on 10/14/1938 in St. Louis, to Edward J. & Rose (Kueter) Wynne. Ed graduated Summa Cum Laude from St. Louis University where he majored in Latin and finished second in his class. Ed was Student Body President and Editor-in-Chief of the newspaper. During summer breaks, Ed reported for the Global Democrat. Ed also attended NYU Law School as a Root-Tilden Scholar graduating top of his class. He received the Order of the Coif and Dean's List recognition. After law school, Ed clerked for the Honorable Alfred Goodwin, Associate Justice of the Oregon Supreme Court. Ed married Margaret Burke of San Francisco in 1964. The newlyweds moved to San Francisco where Ed started his law career with McCutcheon, Doyle, Brown, & Enersen. He later joined Cooper, White & Cooper where he retired as partner. Ed practiced in the area of real estate and business transactions including the construction of Sutro Tower. Following retirement, Ed worked for the Census Bureau. In 1970, the family moved to Ross where they raised three sons, Edward (Amy), Garrett (Jill), and Stephen (Jessica). Ed enjoyed time with his seven grand-children, Burke, Ellie, Luca, Thomas, Hunter, Webb, and Iris. Stella Torrez was a loving companion during the latter part of Ed's life. Ed was involved in many community organizations, most recently serving as President of the Ross Historical Society. He volunteered at Ross Valley Players and in Marin elections. He enjoyed crossword puzzles, dominoes, stamp collecting and was a voracious reader. He took great pride in his Irish heritage with dual citizenship. Ed was a member of the Merchants Exchange Club and was a 50 year member of both the CA State Bar and the Olympic Club. He enjoyed hunting and deep sea fishing. One of Ed's fondest memories was his personal interview of President Truman. Ed is survived by his brother Michael, Ann Brock and Jane Kosash. Ed joins his youngest brother David who predeceased him. Services will be held on 12/20/2018, 11AM at St. Anselm Church in Ross. Reception immediately following the service at the Marin Art & Garden Center. My dear Irish friend, you would have enjoyed your Celebration of Life today. We were all there to honor your legacy. I'll miss our laughs and the partnerships we shared with the Irish Cultural Center, the Ross Valley Historical Society, and the Ross Valley Players. Rest well and please know how many people cared about you and your family, but you probably knew that. You were always so clever and witty Ed Wynne.

Ed, my pal. You always buoyed me up and treated me kindly. The laughs will be sorely missed. The house lights have come up and we shuffle away in muted whisper. You are a class act, in spite of your tie selection. Thank you for your true friendship.
