My deepest and sincerest sympathy to the Coleman family. Aunt Vi was a very warm, caring and inspiring lady. I know first hand how strong her advocacy for education was. If you listened and paid attention to her philosphy your path for success was paved. She made my college years in West Texas memorable and unforgettable and she will always hold a special place in my heart. As you all know, a true soldier will be missed.

To the family oF Dr. Viola Coleman,

Words alone can never convey what Dr. Coleman meant to us. As I read what the various community leaders had to say about our "Martyr" I concur that she was all that and much more. I had the wonderful opportunity to see the spiritual facet of Dr. Coleman's life and as a child of God she excelled. She was a woman of great faith and integrity. Whether she was teaching Sunday school, playing the organ, cooking something delicious for the St. Paul church she did all with great conviction. Although I was born and raised in Midland I was not personally acquainted with Dr. Coleman until I married my husband Elder Lawrence White. Not only was she his medical doctor, they were the dearest of friends and after his own mother passed away he told Dr. Coleman that she was his mother now. And at that point of time he called her mother. If he were alive today I know he would barge in and insist to sing at the service one her favorite songs, "I Can Help Somebody...Then My Living is Not in Vain." Conrad and Reginald we thank you for sharing your mother with us all these years. We will miss her dearly a great warrior, a general on the battlefield for the Lord.

Humbly submitted,

Jewel White

Dr. Coleman was a wonderful person, she was warm, kind, gentle, she would listen to you with a true ear.

I've known this Grand Lady most of my life, for she and my mother were friends and worked together. I haven't seen her for a few years, but I can close my eyes and still see her walking down the halls at the hospital, I can still hear her voice, and see her tilt her head to the side when she looked at you as if to say " Really ". For all of us who's lives she has touched we are Blessed to have known her.

God Bless you Dr. Coleman, and my you reat in Peace.

I'm here because Dr.Coleman bought me (my brother & sister too) into this world. I have such wonderful fond memories of Dr. Coleman. She was always kind to me when ever our path would cross. Dr. Coleman always spoke with the truth--might not have been what you wanted to hear--but it was the truth. She was always there to give you hug when you needed one. There will always be only "one Dr. Viola Coleman", a wonderful loving, kind, giving and strong person that gave so much to others. She will be missed by all.

Vaya con Dios---you'll remain in our hearts forever!

A true pioneer of Midland has gone home. Home to receive her beautiful crown in Heaven. Dr. Coleman was the first doctor my husband Billie saw when we moved to Midland in 1995. I remember Dr. Coleman telling him, "Mr. Lemons, Billie Lemons, Preacher Lemons, I have taken care of a many preachers in my life and you all have had or is going to have high blood pressure. You need to take care of your self, because we need young men like you to continue God's work. She would call and check on him every week. She will truely be missed. May God continue to bless all of you. Do not be sad, because your mother, mother-in-law, sister and grandmother has left her mark all over the world in so many of us.

God Be with you all.

Dr. Coleman, how can I begin to thank you for everything you did for my family and my extended family. Not only did you share your joy with each birth of our children but you also cried with us with each loss of our loved ones. You never forgot to ask how one of ours was doing whenever we had an appointment to see you. I will always remember your firm but compassionate voice and your focus and strong back when things had to get done, whether it was in one your examining rooms or in one of our board rooms. We will miss you so much but I know you were tired and ready to go home. God Bless you Dr. Coleman and grant your family strength and peace, as well as us.

She was a very strong and couragous woman that many will envy and would like so much to follow in her foot steps, as I do.I will miss her very much as well as many others. May God give us all peace and strength to go on without her presence. Peace be with you all. Estela Guevara

I was so blessed to have the experience of working with a truly talanted lady. She was a Christain lady who practiced her faith at work and her community. She set an example for me and many, many others. She loved the Lord and just know that she had a grand entry into heaven, plus, she is wearing a crown! I know this is a difficult time, but may her legacy and strong spirit help fill your huge hole in your heart. Her example and spirit will continue in my heart and many others. You all are in my thoughts and prayers. Peace be with you, Susan Sanders
