COAL TOWNSHIP - Adeline Lucille (Checchi) Talisesky, 97, of Coal Township, passed away on Friday, Jan. 15, 2021, at Mountain View: A Nursing and Rehabilitation Center.

Adeline was born in Shamokin, Jan. 8, 1924, a daughter of the late Rose (Stanker) and Mauro Checchi. Her siblings included sisters, Anna, Emma, Stella, Dorothy, Elizabeth and Marie; and brothers, Mauro, James and Joseph.

She was a 1941 graduate of Coal Township High School.

On Feb. 5, 1947, in St. Joseph Church, Coal Township, she married Alex J. Talisesky, who preceded her in death in 1991.

She was a parishioner of Our Lady Of Hope Church, and the former St. Joseph Church, Coal Township. Adeline was extremely involved with church activities including bingo, making pierogies and potato cakes and cooking for the priests.

Her greatest joy was spending time with her family.

Adeline is survived by three sons and their spouses, David and Lee Anna Talisesky, of Coal Township, Daniel and Nenita Talisesky, of South Carolina, and Bruce and Donna Talisesky, of Elysburg; six grandchildren, Danise Barling, Chloe Yanker, James Talisesky, Michelle Downing, Ashley Zimmerman and Brandon Talisesky; four great-grandchildren, Emily Barling, Noah Barling, Zoey Zimmerman and Carson Zimmerman.

TALISESKY - Adeline Lucille (Checchi) Talisesky, 97, of Coal Township. A visitation for family and friends will be held from 8:30 to 9:30 a.m. Wednesday at the James Kelley Funeral Home, 1001 W. Arch St. at Maple Street, Coal Township. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 10 a.m. Wednesday at Our Lady Of Hope Church, First and Chestnut streets, Coal Township. Face masks and social distancing guidelines will be followed. Interment will follow Mass at St. Edward's Cemetery, Coal Township. As an expression of sympathy, the family requests memorial contributions be made to Our Lady of Hope Church, 863 W. Chestnut St., Coal Township 17866.
