April 17, 1927 - June 8, 2021
Mary Fappiano Forlano DeMenna, 94, formerly of North Haven beloved wife of the late Albert F. Forlano Sr. and William "Bill" DeMenna passed away on June 8, 2021 in Hamden Health Care Center surrounded by her family. Loving mother of Father Albert F. (Diane) Forlano Jr. of Durham, Marlene (Donald) Scialla of Hamden and Robbin (Jim) Withington of Branford. Stepmother of Judy (Leonard) Schuchman, Wendy (Phil) Tavella, Kathy (Bob) Wesche, Gary (Mary) DeMenna and Janis (Chuck) Simko. Grandmother of Jennifer (Russ) Cooper and Justin Forlano. Great grandmother of Chistian, Gianna and Jake Cooper. Sister of Josephine Spamer, Lorraine (Tom) Doll, Carmen (Annette) Fappiano and the late Joseph "Sonny" Fappiano. Mary is also survived by many step-grandchildren, great-grandchildren and many cherished friends that she made throughout the years. Mary was born in New Haven on April 17, 1927, daughter of the late Carmen and Justine O'nofrio Fappiano. Prior to her retirement Mary was the receptionist for Star Distributor of West Haven where she met her second husband Bill DeMenna. The Forlano family would like to thank Leanne Coppola and the wonderful staff at Hamden Health Care Center especially her long term aides Debbie and Toni who cared for and loved our mom like she was their own. Our hearts are full with gratitude.
Family and friends are invited to a parlor service in the PORTO FUNERAL HOME, 234 Foxon Rd. (Rte. 80), East Haven SATURDAY morning at 10:00. Interment will follow in All Saints Cemetery. My thoughts and prayers are with you during this sad time. Mary and I became friends in the past several years. I would take her out each week and enjoyed her company. She was a wonderful person , we got along very well and I will miss her.

Loved going over Aunt Mary's, as a kid and being with my cousins. Aunt Mary always had the best goodies in a big bowl, for us to pick from. You will be missed and always, loved "Myrtle"❤ Love Linda
