It is with deep sadness we announce the passing of Leonard 'ROY' McKibben, beloved husband, father grandfather, brother, uncle, and friend.

Born in Moose Jaw, Saskatchewan, he moved to BC at the age of 19 and has resided in Lynn Valley, North Vancouver, since 1966.

He is survived by his wife of over 56 years, Marlene Gail McKibben, whom he loved and adored and travelled the world with; his three children, Raymond (Lisa), Michael (Laura), and Marcie (Gavin); his seven grandchildren, Jordan, Matthew, Sara, Jessica, Dylan, Andrew, and Avery; and his brother, Lloyd (Red) McKibben; as well as his nieces and nephews.

As a member of the operating engineers union for 56 years, he worked hard to provide for his family and loved us unconditionally. He also loved country-western music, old cars and fishing. He loved to tell jokes and stories to anyone that would listen, and his door was always open.

Thank you, neighbours and friends, for bringing us comfort with your kind words of condolence, flowers, cards, and baked goods.

We also wish to thank his medical team, as well as all the nurses and doctors at both Lions Gate Hospital and St. Paul's Hospital, for their hard work, patience, and support.

At his request, there will be no public service.

Rest in Peace Dad. We love you.

I am so sorry about my favorite uncle passing away. He and my aunt welcomed me into their home allowing me to come back home to Vancouver after I left school. They treated me fantastic never asking me for anything and always welcomed me with a smile. You will be sadly missed but never forgotten.
