Morty's dad was my first job. Morty and I filled our push cart at his store and delivered New York Times the entire length of Park Avenue. Junior High was followed by Stuyvessant. Morty tried to convince me to go with him to medical school. I knew I couldn't memorize all those bones that Morty did so easily but I followed him to Cornell. Doris knew Morty as the first person we called when anyone got sick. I will miss Morty, my friend and counselor, for more than 76 years.

Morty, known as "Julies Dad", I met in the 70's at Whipoorwill. Then our paths crossed again at Yale.
I will remember him as a supportive and caring Dad. It was a pleasure to spend time with Morty and Carol. My condolences to the family and remember when all was like an opening blossom ...learning many new facets about each other. Wishes for peace in our thoughts and memories.

Morty was indeed a mentor and role model. Beginning as a high school student in his lab at Morrisania City Hospital he inspired and guided me to pursue a career in medicine and subsequently, hematology/ oncology. I will always be grateful.

Uncle "Mort"
So sad to hear of his passing, but so grateful for all the wonderful years I had under his leadership and guidance at The Mount Sinai Blood Bank. We were friends and shared our love for the Yankees and the NY Rangers. His compassion for all was one of many assets. I will always cherish the great memories.
