Russell William Ochsenhirt, 90, passed away Oct. 4, 2002.

He attended the University of Pittsburgh, where he was an All-Amer ican basketball player. He graduated with a B.S. in electrical engineer ing. Upon graduation, he joined Good year Tire & Rubber Co. where he played basketball for the Goodyear Wingfoots, a forerunner of the NBA, and was also a member of the famous Five Ironmen Team. He was a member of the Summit County Hall of Fame. He was vice president of the Botzum Bros. Co., president of the Ohio Sand & Gravel Products, and presi dent of Ohio Ready Mix Concrete Association.

He was preceded in death by his wife, Rose Louise (Botzum) in 1996, in-laws, Fr. John J. Hilkert, Thomas Botzum, and Mary Hen driksen. He is survived by his chil dren and spouses, Terry and George Isoma, Bonnie and Jack Trickett all of Hartville, Tim and Nancy Ochsenhirt, David and Renata Ochsenhirt, Mike and Pola Ochsenhirt, Mary and John Cavileer all of Akron, and Jean Marie Ochsen hirt of Chicago; grandchildren, Jim (Jenny), Steve (Vicki), Mike and Ben Trickett; Heidi (Adam) Christ mann, Emily, Kristen and Matthew Ochsenhirt; Russell, Mark and Joseph Ochsenhirt; Jake, Annie and Eric Ochsenhirt; Josh, Andy and Maria Cavileer; six great-grandchil dren; in-laws, Fr. Robert Hilkert, Bill and Mary Louise Hilkert, Fritz and Rita Graf, Dick Hendriksen, Ramona Botzum, Mary Lou and Mar shall Lee Davis; aunt, Evelyn of Pennsylvania; and 26 nieces and nephews.

Mass of Christian Burial Tues day, 10 a.m., at St. Sebastian Church. Interment at Holy Cross Cemetery. Friends may call at the Hummel Funeral Home, 500 E. Exchange St., on Monday from 4 to 8 p.m. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the Delores Sawan Ovarian Cancer Fund, c/o Akron General Medical Center.
