Peggy Farmer passed away peacefully in her sleep at her lifelong home in Riverside, California on June 9, 2018 at the age of 81. Peggy was born in Los Angeles to Eugene and Irma Allen on October 25, 1936. She graduated from University High School in 1954 and Santa Monica City College in 1956. During college she met Donald Farmer and they married on July 20, 1957. After Donald's discharge from the Army, the couple moved to Riverside in 1958 and spent the remainder of their lives in the City of Arts and Innovation.
Peggy was the ultimate supportive mother; P.T.A., Camp Fire Girl leader, Cub Scout Den Mother, Band Booster, and church mom. After her kids were grown, she began working as a secretary spending most of her career at The Children's Center of Riverside.
Peggy was active throughout her community, serving as the president of the Genealogical Society of Riverside where she was a lifetime member. She was also a lifelong member of Camp Fire serving at both district and council levels. Peggy had a passion for music, playing the flute and singing for much of her life. She sang in the church choir at both First Congregational Church and Magnolia Presbyterian Church. She was also very involved in boards and committees at both churches.
She was preceded in death by her husband Donald and daughter Diane. She is survived by her daughter Carol of Hemet, California; son Gene and daughter-in-law Sheila of Cave Springs, Arkansas and grandson Josh of Springdale, Arkansas.
A memorial service will be held at Magnolia Presbyterian Church on Saturday, June 16 at 3 p.m. A graveside service will commence at Evergreen Memorial Park in Riverside on July 19 at 2 p.m. Arrangements Entrusted to the Care of
