Evelyn "Evie" Paluska
EAST PEORIA - Evelyn Mae Paluska, age 93, of East Peoria passed away Saturday, June 23, 2018, at Apostolic Christian Restmor in Morton.
Evelyn was born on February 26, 1925, in East Peoria, IL, to Fred D. and Hatra (Smith) Sollberger. She married Ralph E. Paluska on April 25, 1948, in East Peoria. He preceded her in death on July 1, 2003.
Evelyn is survived by her son, Matt R. Paluska of Creve Coeur; and her daughter, Paula C. Paluska of Pekin. Grandma Evie was blessed to have three wonderful granddaughters, Christine (Ted) Owen of Clearwater, FL, Lindsay (Ross) Hodgson of Pekin and Natalie (Jake) Abu Hanna of New Braunfels, TX. She also thought the world of her five great-grandchildren, Christion, R.J., Everly, Layne and Blake.
She was preceded in death by her parents; husband; brother, Fred; and sister, Ida Vay Sollberger.
Evelyn was a homemaker. Before starting a family, she worked several years at Caterpillar Tractor Co.
She will be remembered as a loving and devoted daughter, wife, mother and grandmother. She cared deeply for her family and always gave good heartfelt advice when needed. She loved to dance, watch old movies and reminisce about fun times with family and friends.
Per her request, cremation rites have been accorded. A memorial service will be at 10:30 a.m., Saturday, July 14, 2018, at Remmert Funeral Home in East Peoria, where visitation will be one hour prior to the service. Private burial of the urn will be in Hillcrest Memory Gardens in Morton.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the Children's Home Association of Illinois, Administration Building, 2130 N. Knoxville Ave., Peoria, IL 61603.
