Doris (Hazelett) Simmons was born September 9, 1953 in Gary, Indiana to Clarence and Lucy Hazelett. She attended Roosevelt High School. Doris was employed by Westside Nursing Home and later employed at Timberview/Aperion Nursing home for seventeen years. She also worked for Davis Security. She was a member of New Mt Moriah Baptist Church and a member of the Ruth Circle. Doris passed away November 13, 2018. She is survived by her children Raymond Jr. (Shanette), Floyd (Yvonne), Judy, Julius, Samantha, Reginald (Kauishma), Kevin and Steven (Dominique); siblings Beatrice, Dorothy, Vivian, Jacqueline, Lorraine, Clarence (Connie) and Lavoria; 48 grandchildren; 21 great grandchildren and a host of other relatives and friends. Visitation Tuesday November 20, 2018 from 9:00a.m. – 11:00 a.m. with funeral services to follow at 11:00a.m. All services at New Mt. Moriah Baptist Church. Interment Evergreen Cemetery.
