Doris, age 96, entered peaceful rest to be with her Lord and Savior Jesus Christ on Monday, February 4, 2019.She was a previous employee of Obersen Construction Company and retired from the Boys and Girls Club of Northwest Indiana. She was preceded in death by her loving parents and siblings: Hubert, Charles, Mildred, Helen and Ardella. She leaves to mourn her passing: three daughters; Gloria (Maurice) Jackson, Muriel Johnson, and Holly Echols; a sister, Christine Carter, a sister-in-law, Sophia White; six grand-children; Esther, Gloria, Sylvia (LaRon), Anthony, Allyson and Tamara (Derrick); eleven great grand-children and ten great-great grand-children, a host of nieces, nephews, family, friends and her devoted caregiver Rae A. Brown. Visitation: February 16, 2019, 9:00 a.m. – 11:00 a.m. with Funeral Services to follow at 11:00 a.m. All services will be held at the Guy & Allen Funeral Chapel, 2959 W. 11th Ave. Interment: Evergreen Memorial Park.

The earth is the Lords the fullness thereof and they that dwell within. To the entire family we the Montgomery family wish to extend to you our deepest sympathy at this time. Muriel please hold on to your precious memories of your love one, we will keep you lifted up in prayer. There is comfort in first Thessalonians ch 4 verse 13-14. May God grant you all comfort.

Muriel we were sorry to hear of the passing of your beloved Mother. May you find comfort in knowing that others share in your grief and praying for you. God blessed you to have her for all those beautiful years and just came back and claimed his own. Remember that a Mother's love is forever and she really loved all of you.

We send a Texas size hug out to Momma Holly, Tammye, Muriel, Anthony, Allyson and the rest of the family. Grandma Doris never failed to extend her thoughtfulness and humor to my family and she will always be remembered for it. God bless and may she rest in peace.
