To family and friends, my deepest sympathies for the loss of your dearly beloved, Mr. Hobert Nelson. May it bring you comfort and hope in knowing God knows of your pain, that he cares for you, that he is with you now, and is with you through the difficult days ahead, and always. 1Peter 5:6,7.

I always remember Hobert as a very talented man, artistically, as well as with people. He had a very soft and gentle way about him that I enjoyed being around. He built a magical life, and home. He will be sorely missed.

I was honored to have met some exceptional individuals that my Dad worked with in the Homicide Detail, and Hobie is at the top of the list. A determined investigator, both liked and respected by his peers. RIP Hobie. Ken Manley Jr.

RIP, Inspector Nelson.
I can personally attest to Inspector Nelson's drawing skills. I was once involved in the arrest of a murder suspect, an arrest made possible by one of his drawings.
I and two of my fellow patrolmen had arrested the man for a robbery and immediately recognized that he resembled the composite the Inspector had drawn of the murder suspect. It may as well have been a photograph. Yes, he was that good.
My condolences to the Nelson family
