April 19, 1951 - March 10, 2021 Carl Allan Johnson, 60 year resident of Torrance, CA passed away on Wednesday, March 10, 2021. Carl was born April 19, 1951 in Glenwood City, Minnesota. Upon the passing of Carl's father he and his Mom moved to California to be closer to Bo Johnson, Carl's brother. Carl graduated from Hawthorne High, El Camino Junior College, Loyola Marymount and received his Master's degree in Business Administration from Cal State Dominguez Hills. While attending college he worked at Marie Callender's Pie Shop where he met his wife of 45 years, Marie (Boimilla) Johnson. He worked 34 years at TRW/Northrup as a Manager. He had many good times with his buddies, sailboat friends, the Carl and The Passions band members, and his golfing group. Carl had Juvenile Diabetes since he was 11 years old, but it was the seven years of Parkinson's that took him from this world. Carl is survived by his wife Marie Johnson, step-brother Pete (Sue) Kunst, Aunt Helen Fosdick, the Pappas family, the Johnsons, the Boimillas, the Fitzpatricks, the Hagins and the Hopkins. A Celebration of Life will be planned for this summer.

Carl was an excellent surfer in his high school and college years. As a high school friend, we enjoyed surfing 26 and PV area breaks. During our 50th high school reunion, I was able to reminisce with Carl about our surfing days! Carl will be missed but has moved on to a better place.

Carl was the best – our cool Uncle & Great-Uncle, with the big heart and easy going ways.

. Southern CA 1960’s surf & beach culture, classical Ford’s, Surf Van’s, Dodger Blue, Minnesota Loyalty, old school skateboarding, Poop Deck, Garage Band jam sessions, Beach Boys and the Stones – all of it will always scream Carl to me and will always bring me a smile and a memory!

Where there was Carl, there was Marie - every time, .super special. SO much appreciation for our life with Carl.
