November 13, 1948 - January 21, 2021
Folsom, California - On January 21, 2021 Dan lost his courageous battle with multiple myeloma.
Dan was a U.S. Army Viet Nam Veteran and purple heart recipient and an avid outdoorsman. He enjoyed hunting, fishing, archery, golf, hiking and traveling; especially to Mallorca, Spain to see his son and family.
Dan graduated in 1966 from Franklin High School in Stockton, Ca and was a Folsom, Ca resident for 45 years.
He is preceded in death by his grandson Aidan Squires. Survived by his wife of 48 years Wendy, daughter Kim Squires (Jacob), son Tim Gillespie (Maria) and grandsons Connor and Thomas Squires and Alan and Alex Gillespie. He was loved and will be deeply missed, especially his "upside down" hugs.
Due to Covid-19, gravesite services will be private. We will have a celebration of his life when we can all be together safely. In lieu of flowers, please make a donation in his name to the Sacramento chapter of United Cerebral Palsy or charity of your choice.

My Friend, My Brother, There is no words to express my loss of our friendship for so many years. I’ll always cherish the years we had hunting out of state and at your cabin and mine. And will miss the 1.00 a hole bet we had standing every time we golfed which you kept in a sock in your golf bag. I’ll miss you. And to Windy and family I’m truly sorry for your loss. Mike Q.
