My condolences to the friends and family of Chuck Roper. I worked with Chuck through the Parents in Recovery / Drug Court Program as a colleague from Austin Recovery. I loved his wisdom, compassion and humor. He was a great asset to the recovery community!! Thank you for your service Chuck! Rest In Peace.

Sadly, I am not going to be able to make it today. I was deeply saddened to learn that Chuck had lost his battle with Cancer. He was a fierce warrior on so many fronts in life. He was a strong voice for the recovery community. I learned a great deal from him in my years of working with him. I always remember Chuck saying, "She may be abstinent, but she is not recovery." At the time this statement did not make sense to me. However, I came to learn that there is much truth in this statement, and Chuck knew what he was talking about. He will be missed by many!

Chuck was one of my graduate students. I chaired his dissertation committee. He had so many talents & a keen intellect. He left us too soon. My deepest sympathy to his family. Toni Falbo

Chuck and Joan were my next door neighbors for 10 yrs and almost 33 yrs ago, Chuck was the instrument in getting me sober. He took me to my first meeting and I will be forever grateful to him for his sobriety. He was a wonderful, loving and selfless man. I will always love him and will miss him greatly. I am glad that he is no longer in pain and look forward to seeing him again.

What a compassionate yet fierce warrior for folks struggling with addiction. Chuck made such a positive difference in the lives of so many people, mine included. Heaven is certainly a sweeter place today with Chuck there. All the best to his family.

To all of Chuck's families, I was sadden to read the news of his passing as it is never easy to release the pain of their earthly presence not with us.
Knowing Chuck was loved and admired by all who knew him shows us he was a solider of God's hand in helping everyone.
I knew Chuck from SMA and he was kind to everyone. My condolences. I know his spirit and love will remain with all of us.
