CAROLE REEVE-NEWSON July 21, 1940 - May 7, 2021 Our beloved Carole, died peacefully after a valiant and brave struggle with cancer. Born in Timmins, ON, she grew up in Southwestern Ontario and moved to Toronto after graduating from the University of Guelph. She is lovingly remembered and will be missed by her sisters Merina Benner (John) and Elaine Psaila (Steve), as well as her nieces and nephews, Erin (Anthony), Denise (Lare), Marnie and Kevan (Cassi), and great nieces and nephews, Megan, Lauren, Mayzi Rae, Sam and Drew, as well as many friends around the world. She was predeceased by her parents, Jim and Avis Battist. She had a magnetism and keen intellect, and touched the lives of many through her art and paintings, interests in travelling (having travelled around the world with her close friend, Enid), bridge, classical music and literature. Carole was an educator, first as a Chemistry teacher, then High School Principal and Special Education Coordinator with the Scarborough Board. In her retirement years, Carole enjoyed teaching art and bridge on cruise ships. In all her roles, she made a difference to so many. Warm and caring and willing to take on many causes and organizational duties, she was a leader ahead of her time. Carole was an advocate for the environment and preservation of local parks, and it was her wish to have a commemorative bench donated in her memory. In lieu of flowers, donations towards Carole's bench as well as condolences can be made at www.gardenforcarole.ca
. A memorial for Carole will be held at a later time.
