I was a junior clerk at 2 New Square and always found Martin Nourse to be a complete gentleman. He always had time to ask me how I got on at my weekend football and he loved it when I scored the winner for Lincoln's Inn in the annual Miller Cup match against Temple. We all thpught he was a CONFIRMED bachelor until the beautiful and kind Lavinia Malim entered his life, it cost him a bet I believe of expensive bottles of wine which he had stored in Lincoln's Inn Hall. A lovely man, a kind man who made a great impression on this then 16yr old.RIP Sir Martin, it was a pleasure to clerk you.
