Buford Jacob Crick

Pineville - Buford Jacob Crick, 87, of Pineville, passed from the struggles of this present age into the loving arms of Jesus on Tuesday, December 29, 2020 while at Rapides Regional Medical Center, Alexandria.

He was born on January 18, 1933 in Wichita, Kansas to the union of his parents, Joy Denzil and Nancy May Crick. He was a member of the First United Methodist Church in Pineville.

A service to worship the Lord and honor the life of Buford Crick will be held at 12 p.m. Saturday, January 2, 2021 at the First United Methodist Church in Pineville with the Revered Steve Berger and Dr. Patrick Willis officiating. Visitation will be held at the church from 10 a.m. until the time of the funeral.

Interment will be observed at Greenwood Cemetery in Pineville under the direction of Hixson Brothers Funeral Home of Pineville.

A successful entrepreneur in the insurance business throughout much of his adult life, Buford loved his family and served his community. He served his country in the United States Air Forces as a Drill Sargent. While residing in Jena, Buford served on the town council and was a leader in the business community. He took seriously the command from Jesus to minister to the "least of these" and spent many hours volunteering through the Kairos Prison Ministry and various other ministries.

He lost his sweet wife, Sue Crick, of 60 years in 2015, and together they previously mourned a daughter Dena Lynn Crick Aldridge who passed in 1975.

He is survived by this son, Neil Brooks Crick and wife Denise; daughter, Lori Ann Kendrick and husband Donnie; Grandchildren, Reed Aldridge, John Luttrell, Danielle Willis and husband Patrick, Bethany Troquille and husband Mason, Sarah Burch and husband Guy, Deanna Carrico and husband Travis, Joshua Crick and wife Jocelin, Nicholas Hanson and wife Emily; 17 great grandchildren.

Pallbearers will be Joshua Crick, Paxton Willis, Guy Burch, Mason Troquille, Jay Quinton, and Matt Dickson.

Honorary pallbearers will be Lester Mallette, Reed Aldridge, Tom Burk, Carson Willis, and Nicholas Hanson.

In lieu of flowers, please make memorial donations to the Louisiana Methodist Children's Home, 904 DeVille Lane, Ruston, LA 71270 or Alzheimer's Association, 225 N. Michigan Avenue, Chicago, IL 60601.

he was a very nice man and i will miss seeing him . i did the lawncare on the townhomes that he lived in .he was so nice to me and i had a lot of respect for him.so sorry that he passsed away

Bud was a good friend and business associate to our families. He always presented a positive attitude and was someone you could trust for guidance. He had a great sense of humor and a ready interest in many subjects. He will always be remembered fondly. We wish sincere sympathy to his family.
