So sorry to hear of the loss of your brother Jessie. I remember when you introduced me to Trini in Dallas when he was playing at the Playboy Club and your family. I couldn’t believe it when you ask me for the picture I had to give to Trini, it was my honor. I know you had a special bond with Trini and may he Rest In Peace

I found out today and am late with condolences. I enjoyed Trini’s albums and his family in Dallas while I was in college. I was able to see him perform live in Dallas with Vikki Carr. Trini’s whole family was there. I am grateful for your talent and your family. I send love and hugs to your family. Remember, love is the immortal part of us.

I am saddened to learn that Trini Lopez has passed away and I send my condolences all family and loved ones. Mr. Lopez was a creative and talented person and I am thankful he shared his musical talents with us. The song “Lemon Tree” was a catchy song that I remember listening to and singing in the 1960s. Just as recently as about 6 months ago the song popped in my mind and I started singing it. Thank you, Mr. Lopez. May prayers strengthen you and cherished memories comfort you, and may God’s loyal love always soothe, comfort, and sustain you. 23rd Psalm

Trini was a singer whose songs will forever be remembered. I saw one of his performances in person and I will always be grateful for that time. Of all of his songs, LABAMA was my favorite. There will never be another singer who songs touched so many hearts. RIP TRINI JM

So sorry to hear about the passing of a Great Legend. Mr. Lopez's music and singing was the first impression as well as a lasting impression of an awesome singer/performer in my life. I'm soon to be 63 years old and his singing of "If I had a Hammer" and "Lemon Tree" has been gently hammered in my soul and has been sweet as lemons as memories of my childhood and the effects music has had in my life. I recently was going through some albums and ran across the very album I played as a child, Trini Lopez's -"Lemon Tree". I often found myself singing those two favorites throughout my life and most recently to a few of my older folks in the nursing home where I work. They all sang along and knew Trini Lopez was the one that made these songs great - years ago. Mr. Lopez may have passed from this life on to Eternity, but I'm not letting go of his music and songs. He will live forever in my heart.

Trini was a very special person, always had a smile... and loved being with people. There was a group of us who hung out together, golfing and drinks at the Blue Coyote. He was a genuine person with a great personality and will truly be missed by his friends and fans. I could tell you a lot of stories that we shared. I will always have my memories of our shared friendship. Hope to see you on the other side my Amigo!

Very sad for the loss of the talented Trini.
His songs, which I was introduced by my father who is no longer here, marked my life.
I was lucky enough to see him sing in Rio de Janeiro in the '90s.

Trini, you will be missed so much by my family. I met you in Anaheim at one of your shows. My husband and I always went to PJs to see you perform. My son wore out an album that you had recorded at PJs because he loved your song "If I had a Hammer," he was only 8 months old, he would cry when it was over and I had to play it again for him. Going forward 47 years he was able to interview you on his podcast over the phone which he will always cherish that show. My deepest condolences to your sisters, your brother, Jess and the rest of your family, and Joe Chavira and Oralee Walker. God Bless you and yours,

When I was 3 or 4 Trini was living in Commerce, perhaps going to ET. My grandmother and aunt lived next door to the high school. Trini had a rattle trap truck that he would ride around town in. Kids would wave at him and he would stop and we'd pile in. I remember that he was always singing to us and urging us to sing along. One of my fondest early memories. He will be sorely missed. My heart is broken for his family.

Words can’t express how bad I feel about the passing of your uncle and our friend, Trini Lopez. My family and I met him several times during his East Coast touring days. He, time and time again, invited us backstage into his dressing room to visit with him and Dave Shiver, his bass player, after their performances. He and Dave were so nice to us. We felt like we knew them forever. And what talent! We loved the guy. He didn’t deserve to die like this. So very sorry for your loss.

I was a member of The First Presbyterian Church in Baldwin Park CA.
Many of the men & us young guys took part in constructing The Evanoff Memorial Fire ring & on a Saturdau Evening We sang & played our guitars to his music. Our other guest was Trini Lopez & one of the greatest songs he had us sing along to was one of my favorites, If I Had A Hammer. It was truly a memorable evening for all of
us & afterwards we ll went to Shakey's Pizza for a great evening of celebration. His passing comes as a complete

Trini Lopez was a small god in my home when I was growing up. He was constantly on our stereo on weekend nights, at family parties, at the holidays. "You Talk Too Much" was a favorite, but my parents had gone to see him at PJs and every song was on! When I moved to Palm Springs in my middle age, I would regularly see Mr Lopez perched on a bar stool at Tony's ...and I would see that small god of my famikly.
