Like countless other truck drivers whose long hours behind the wheel during the night hours made for a niche that only The Midnight Cowboy, Bill Mack, could fill, this gentleman with the perfect voice and honest empathy for those of us that were on the road, won a place in my heart for all time. I was pleased beyond description to receive a jacket from Bill, inducting me into the Million Mile Club, and got to meet him at last, in person, at the Mid-America Truck Show (MATS) in 1996 or 1997. He was very busy standing at LeAnn Rimes' side as she signed autographs for countless fans, but "Blue" was YOUR song, your creation. She sung it beautifully, but if I'd been an autograph seeker, yours would have been the autograph I'd have wanted. Thank you for all the lives you saved, the broken hearts you helped heal, the chuckles and laughs you made come from so many of us during those years as The Midnight Cowboy. Thank you for being our friend, that soothing voice that helped so many of us over the rough spots in our lives that your hours behind the microphone were able to convey. God bless you and please thank God for loaning you to this world for 91+ years. Until we meet again, Bill Mack!
