November 26, 1946 - April 3, 2021
GIG HARBOR, Washington - Barb, our beloved wife, mother and grandmother passed away unexpectedly following a short illness. Barb was born and raised in Bremerton and spent most of her life in Gig Harbor. Barb taught elementary school in the Tacoma, Peninsula and South Kitsap School Districts. She loved teaching and it was her belief that if you gave children love and attention their futures would be brighter.
Barb brought a big smile and a sincere hug for everyone she knew. Her mere presence would light up a room. She loved her family and friends and that love was sincere and never wavered.
Barb is survived by her husband of 53 years, Jim, and her two children Elizabeth Simmons (Michael, Gig Harbor) and Jeffrey Sells (Layla, Redmond), grandson Parker, brother Tom Clarke (La Mesa, CA), and several cousins, nieces and nephews.
The world is not quite as good a place as it was before Barb's passing, and a bright light has been extinguished.
In lieu of flowers please make a donation to a charity or nonprofit providing services to children. Presently there are no plans for a memorial due to the ongoing public heath danger.
