It is with deep sadness we announce the passing of Ben Goodman, age 32, who died suddenly due to heart failure on March 14, 2021 in New York City. Ben is survived by his fiancée, Lindsay Janisse, his mother Cindy Shelley, his father and stepmother Jeff and Pamela Goodman, his brothers Andrew Shelley and Carson Goodman, his sister Natasha Goodman, his dogs Kiva and Wilson, and his many beloved colleagues and friends. Born on March 8, 1989 in Manhattan, Ben graduated from Northport High School in June of 2007 and received a Bachelor's degree in International Business from Florida Atlantic University in December 2014. In March of 2021, he was accepted into Michigan State University's MBA program and had plans to enroll to further his education in Business. Ben and the love of his life, Lindsay Janisse, became engaged in September of 2020 and had plans to marry on June 25, 2022. He proposed on the balcony of their home in the company of close family and friends. Together, the couple worked toward starting GroundWell, Lindsay's new business venture of online health and wellness coaching. They had many plans and dreams and looked forward to a long and beautiful future together. Professionally, Ben was a member of Local One IATSE and worked on shows like The Lion King and Wicked. More recently, he was working on NBC's Saturday Night Live and The Late Show with Stephen Colbert at CBS Studio. An old soul who loved the outdoors, Ben was an avid golfer and committed himself to mastering the craft and its history. Ben's passion for success was contagious; his strive for excellence and compassion for others was evident in his efforts to better himself and those around him. His ambition will go on to live vicariously through those he loved most. Ben will be greatly missed by his family and friends. May his soul Rest in Peace. The family is planning to hold another memorial service in Ben's honor in an outdoor space which will be announced in the near future. There will be a celebration of Ben's life at Crestwood Funeral Home located at 445 West 43rd Street, NYC on Tuesday March 23, 2021 between the hours of 12:30-3:00 pm. In lieu of flowers the family has respectfully requested that all donations be forwarded to the GoFundMe: In Memoriam of Ben Goodman - For Lindsay Janisse https://gofund.me/f2be7ecb to support his fiancée's endeavor. We are certain he would want to continue to support her and her dream. I don't what to say without sounding like a store bought sympathy card. I deeply saddened by your loss, I have no idea how bad you are hurting, and I am praying for you and all of you, Janisses and Goodmans, that while you are suffering from this crushing tragedy, that with each day God helps you find a way to endure to tomorrow, and on that day he helps you through to the next one. It's the only way I know that healing happens, and I am terribly sorry I am not able to do more besides give you some virtual big Grandpa J hugs from my wife and I, and if there's more we can do for your business or anything else, please let us know.

Our hearts are broken with the passing of Ben. He was a great friend to our son Zach. They knew each other as kids in Northport and kept in touch through the years. We have fond memories. Our deepest condolences to his mom, brother and the entire family.
