Ozella Baize Belvin

Ozella Baize Belvin, 89 of Purmela, passed away Thursday, April 30, 2009, in Clifton. Funeral services will be 3 p.m. Saturday, May 2, at the Scott's Funeral Home Chapel. Burial will follow at the Live Oak Cemetery. The family will receive visitors 6 to 8 p.m. Friday, at the funeral home. Ozella Baize was born in Coryell County, in 1920, one of six children to the late Gustoff and Vesta Moore Baize. She spent most of her life in the Liberty-Ohio Community in Hamilton County, where at the age of 16, she met and married Clovis Belvin. They were married for 72 years. Ozella was a very loving wife, mother, and grandmother, who always put others first and loved taking care of Clovis for their 72 years together. Ozella loved the Church of Christ and her church family and friends. She enjoyed cooking chocolate and lemon pies and hot rolls for the many special occasions she attended. Ozella was preceded in death by her husband, Clovis; her parents; all five brothers and sisters; two daughters, Clova Craig and Mary Howeth; one son-in-law, Sonny Howeth; two grandsons; and one great-grandson. She is survived by her son, E.J. Belvin and wife, Janice of Clifton; daughter, Kay Dowell and husband, Gene of China Spring; eight grandchildren; 16 great-grandchildren; and one great-great grandchild. A special thanks to Dr. Spitzer and Staff, Clifton Memorial Hospital and Hospice Sunset Staff, for their wonderful care. To Hospice Sunset Chaplain, Herb Lambert, for his many visits that meant so much to Ozella; to Barbara Weir of Hospice Sunset, for her gospel songs; to Maudine and O'neal Reneau, for all the calls and visits-Mother really enjoyed them; and to Jennifer Mendoza, for her care giving.
