GALVIN MARTIN G. GALVIN "MARTY" On Monday, August 6, 2018 Dr. Martin Galvin, poet and educator, of Chevy Chase, MD died peacefully at his home with family by his side. Beloved husband of Theresa; devoted father of Brenna J. Galvin Sidhall (husband, the late Christian) and Tara A. Galvin Curry (husband, Gregory M.); cherished grandfather of Davis Galvin, James J., Shannon E. and Sarah C. Curry; loving brother of Catherine F. Voss, Paul J. Galvin and the late Joseph J. and James J. Galvin. The family will receive friends at PUMPHREY'S BETHESDA-CHEVY CHASE FUNERAL HOME, 7557 Wisconsin Ave., Bethesda, MD on Wednesday, August 29 from 5 to 7 p.m. and again on Thursday, August 30 from 9 to 10 a.m. with a memorial service following at 10 a.m. Interment at Arlington National Cemetery in the columbarium will be held at a later date. In lieu of flowers, contributions in the name of Martin Galvin may be made to The Writer's Center, 4508 Walsh Street, Bethesda, MD 20185 or Holy Cross Home Care & Hospice, 10720 Columbia Pike, Silver Spring, MD 20901.
