Died July 15, 2007 at Somerford Place in Frederick, MD, from brain cancer (glioblastoma multiforme). She had lived in the Washington area for more than four decades. Born in the Mother Lode's capital, Placerville, CA, Pat came from a Californio family, descended from Eulalia Perez de Guillen Marine (1766-1878) of San Gabriel Mission. Her work won awards for both advertising and the almanac. After retirement, she became a tour guide at the Children's Museum of Rose Hill Manor in Frederick until May 2007.

During more than three decades in Frederick County, Pat gave of herself to the community in her work and on numerous boards including the Frederick Arts Council, the Maryland Regional Ballet, St. John's Catholic Prep ("Prospect Hall"), the St. John's Graveyard Committee, and the Frederick Art Club (1st VP 2005-6, 2nd VP 2006-7).
