Patricia Lillian Meisner
Feb 13, 1939 - Dec 3, 2020Patricia Lillian Meisner, age 81, of Westport, CT, passed away on Thursday, December 3, 2020, surrounded by family. She was born February 13, 1939 in Newark, NJ to Albert and Lillian Menner, who preceded her in death along with her siblings, Al and Vicki. In November, Pat celebrated 60 years of marriage to her loving husband, Ed Meisner.
Pat's family was her life, her career. She treasured every moment with her children and grandchildren. She was an amazing cook, but never wrote down a recipe, much to her daughters' frustration. Her infamous Menner macaroni lunches were enjoyed by many, none of whom dared pass the salt without the pepper, and risk Pat referencing her well-worn Emily Post's "Etiquette". Pat was lead singer in the family band, flying angel pilot, choreographer of Bob Marley's "Jammin", master domino shuffler, spelling bee champion and math whiz. She was a lover of birds, walks in the rain, drives in a convertible, and family cruises on the Cuckoo's Nest. Pat loved a good party; she cherished time spent with friends and created an inviting home that was open to all. She loved her grandchildren's sporting events, their summer retreats at her home, and crow calls with them. She loved animals and was supportive of many rescue charities. She lived the last years of her life with Alzheimer's, but continued to sing, dance, and laugh with her loving caregiver, Sandra Campbell, and her family.
She leaves behind her children, Jacki Galenkamp of Cornwall, VT, Nancy Walker and her husband Buddy of Oakland, NJ, Ed Meisner of New York, NY, Heather Wilk and her husband Andrew of Westport, her grandchildren, Amanda Galenkamp of Burlington, VT, Laura Galenkamp of Salem, NH, Kevin Galenkamp of Charlotte, NC, Robbie Walker of Miami, FL, Colin Walker of Brooklyn, NY, Tyler Walker of Miami, FL, Christopher Wilk of New York, NY, and Brian Wilk of Westport, CT.
Her zest for life, infectious laughter and smile will be missed. She was our sunshine and will be forever in our hearts. We love you to the moon and back. Rest in peace.
