Grace R. Abel, 87, of Hudson, MA died Tuesday, March 16, 2021 at her home. Born in New York City, New York, she was the daughter of the late Michael Fanelli and Mae (Rella) Fanelli. Grace graduated from New York City Public High School with the class of 1951. She and her former husband, Donald F. Abel moved to Hudson in 1969. Grace retired from Digital Corp. where she was affectionately known as "Crash Abel". She previously worked for American Enca at the Empire State Building as a secretary, and later for the Hudson Public Schools at the Farley Middle School where she worked as a cafeteria worker in the 1970's. Grace was an active member of the Red Hat Society and enjoyed going out to lunch and coffee with friends. She was very outgoing with a zest for life and loved spending summers in the sun up at Hampton Beach. She was often spotted on the beach with a wide brimmed sun hat and sundress flying her kite and picking shells. Grace also enjoyed roller skating at Roller Kingdom in the 1980's. She is survived by her daughter Judith-Grace (Judy) Miller and her husband Alan Miller of Westford, MA, her grandchildren Matthew Miller and Jonathan Miller, her brother-in-law George Meslener of Acton, MA, her niece Karen Buscemi and Paul and family of No. Reading, MA, and three grand nieces Anna Buscemi, Laura Buscemi and Jennifer Buscemi. She was the sister of the late Rose Meslener. A graveside service was held on Tuesday, March 23, 2021 at 11:15 A.M. at Pinegrove Cemetery, Westford, MA.
