Crooksville - Ruth Ann Russell, 82, of Crooksville, Ohio died at 4:40 PM, Wednesday, January 6, 2021 at her residence with her children by her side.

She was born January 17, 1938 in Crooksville, the daughter of the late Clinton and Irene (nee: Dady) Neff.

Ruth was a 1955 graduate of Crooksville High School. She had worked at Kroger's in New Lexington and later, at Glasfloss Industries in Crooksville and Lancaster. Ruth enjoyed reading, talking on the phone, going out to eat with her friends and telling jokes. Following her husband's retirement, they loved to travel to the Smoky Mountains. Ruth was a fun-loving person. She dearly loved her family and friends.

Left behind to mourn her passing are her children and their spouses, Jackie and Don Beardsley, Richard and Julie Russell, Jr. and John Russell; her grandchildren, Ashley (Jeremy) Garber, Emily (Nathan) Furry and Clinton Beardsley (Lexi Schultz); her great grandchildren, Madison, Lauren and Christopher Furry and Emerson Garber; her very best friends, Myrna Hoffer and Mary Sparks; her brothers-in-law and sisters-in-law, Janice Wahl, Sharon Russell, Gene and Connie Russell and Gaye and Francis Roberts and her aunts, June Lawyer and Florence Darner.

In addition to her parents, Ruth was preceded in death by her husband of 48 years, Richard F. Russell, Sr.; her in-laws, Glen and Marvalene Stollar, Sheldon Wahl and Bill Russell, Sr.

Due to the current pandemic, the family has opted for a private graveside service to be held at this time with Pastor Marc Caton as celebrant. Ruth will be laid to rest next to her beloved husband in Mt. Horeb Cemetery near Crooksville. The family will hold a celebration of Ruth's life to include family and friends at a later date.
