Roderick CAITHNESS Obituary

CAITHNESS, Roderick Lindsay

25.10.1936 - 30.7.2025

Rod was a champion golfer, respected coach and mentor, and loyal friend. Eldest son of Isabella (dec.) and Lindsay (dec.), and brother of David (dec.).

Beloved husband of Beverley, married for 67 years.

Cherished father of Helen, Andrew and Allison. Loved father-in-law to John, Linda and Robert. Proud grandfather to Amy, Jared, Ashleigh, Thomas, Lachlan and Ethan. Adored great-grandfather to Sophie, Chris, Lucy, Chloe and Aleira.

Rod's dedication and service to the sport of golf have been recognised by the Ballan, Apollo Bay and Kooringal Golf Clubs.

Rod's generosity, wisdom and humour touched all who knew him. He will be deeply missed, but his legacy lives on.

'Why did no one tell us that to die is to be reincarnated in those we love while they are still alive? Ask me the altitude of heaven, and I will answer, "How tall are you?"' – Andrea Gibson

We are grateful to the staff at Grampians Health Ballarat and Gandarra Palliative Care.
