KLAVSEN, Nanna Vilhelmina
April 29, 1928 - July 26, 2016
Nanna died peacefully with her family by her side at the age of 88. She was predeceased by her husband, Ejvin; and her son-in-law, Ron.
Nanna and her family made the Airdrie area their home in 1981 and lived there for 35 years. During those years, she lovingly watched her family grow. Her grandchildren will tell you that Gramma always had after school treats ready and cheered at endless minor hockey games. She knit sweaters for them and played in forts built in the living room. Her children will tell you that she was always willing to lend an ear and was never quick to judge. She was a friend of all living things.....be they plants, animals or people. Although Nanna did not have a large circle of close friends, the ones she had were very dear to her. Anyone that ever had the pleasure of knowing her, would agree that she had a most kind and gentle soul.
Nanna lived the last two years of her life at the Didsbury Bethany Care Centre, where she was lovingly cared for by staff and friends. We are forever grateful for their kindness - particularly during the last days of her life. We would also like to sincerely thank the staff of Alternatives Funeral and Cremation Services, who have, once again, helped us through a difficult time. Although dementia ultimately stole Mom's ability to speak, it could not rob her of her compassionate nature. She will be lovingly remembered and terribly missed. Kim, Mike, Jytte and family.
