Marjorie Hall Obituary

Marjorie Alice Hall was born on August 26, 1934 and passed away peacefully on May 15th, 2022 in Dawson Creek, BC, at the age of 87. She was the 3rd of 8 children, born to Henry and Alice Tenborg and was raised on the banks of the Kiskatinaw... her first 10 years on the homestead, and later at the pump house which her father ran. Berry picking, river skating, card playing, and country dancing were favourite activities. Following graduation, she worked at the CIBC where she met her husband Merv, a railway worker from Saskatoon. Marj and Merv married in 1954 and had four children by 1958: William, Craig, Grant, and Carolyn. Marj was a very devoted mother, and when the kids were young, an active member of the Anglican Church. She later worked as a library assistant and substitute teacher and chaperoned many field trips both locally and abroad. Her cinnamon buns, dough gods, and other baking were loved by all. Marj pursued many interests such as sewing, making wedding cakes, curling, golf, badminton, and quilting. She and Merv went on many wilderness excursions; hiking the West Coast, Cape Scott, and Chilkoot trails; canoeing, 3-wheeling, and snowmobiling. She had a big love of the Arctic, making several trips on her own. She loved her family immensely and was a rock for all of us. Family and friends were everything and she made a point of keeping in touch with them all. We will miss her dearly! Marj was predeceased by her husband Mervin; parents Alice and Henry Tenborg; sister Julia Eklund; brothers Martin, Maurice, Donnie, and half-brother Kenneth Tenborg. She is survived by her children William (Sonja), Craig (Mary), and Grant Hall, daughter Carolyn (Brock) McClarty; grandchildren Tyler (Stephanie), Elliot (Jenny) Hall, Robin (Trevor) Kuntz, Natasha (Brad) Longshaw, Carla (Byron) Jerome, Casey, Virgil (Talaea), Raquel (Tanner), Natalie (Kyle) McClarty; great-grandchildren Landon, Stella, Olivia, Taylor, Ana, Ty, Aaron, Evangeline, Chloe, Nels, Gia, Nahla, and Ashton; sisters Henrietta Sluggett, Dorothy Guest; brother Allen, and half-brother Gary Tenborg; daughters-in-laws Diana, Claire, Lorraine, and Madonna; and many cousins, nieces, nephews, and friends.
