Robert Ralph Rempel

We rejoice with Robert Ralph Rempel as he is totally healed in the arms of his Saviour Jesus! On August 10, 2018 at 9:45 his new life began - free of 33 years of chronic nerve pain; at Barrhead Hospital, his 5 1/2 year cancer battle ceased. Left to cherish his memory and incredible spirit are his wife, Isabel of 16 years and 15 days and sons, Jason and Christopher (both from Calgary); Doreen (mother of his sons) and many treasured friends. On September 12, 1952, God gave Marjorie and Bill an amazing gift. Robert's inquisitiveness stimulated by a love of reading and fixing things, began at an early age. Also from a youngster, his sense of humour was evident. He became a heavy duty mechanic and was always willing to give a helping hand. January 26, 1983 and February 1, 1985 were very important days in Robert's life; his devotion for his sons has made them what the are today. Incredible men. What is so noteworthy about Robert's life is the way he lived it with a grateful heart. Many didn't realize that he was in constant pain. His focus, which was inspired by his love for Jesus, was on investing in relationships. Isabel's life is forever changed because of Robert's deep love. She appreciated how he encouraged her to take the Christian teacher position at Alberta Distance Learning Centre in 2006 and how he was quite willing to leave his hometown of Calgary for her sake. Robert and Isabel made a wonderful life together in Barrhead. Robert worked tirelessly on their beautiful home by the Paddle River near McGill Estates. He also lent his talents to the outdoor Christmas Production, Journey to Bethlehem, Bethel, Barrhead Social Housing and friends requests. Robert being very practical would probably rather that, instead of flowers, donations be made to Barrhead Healthcare Centre because he was so thankful for the compassion and quality care he received at the hospital. This appreciation also extended to Edmonton's Grey Nuns Palliative Unit 43. He praised God often for Doctor Krantz and so does his family. Celebration of his life will be held at 13:00 Monday, August 20, 2018 from Bethel Pentecostal Church where we will share why Robert underlined, "your endurance inspired by hope in our Lord Jesus Christ" (1 Thessalonians 1:3) in his Bible.
