Lois Eamon Obituary

Long-time Bramalea resident Lois Lee Eamon, born in Elmira, died peacefully in her sleep November 23, 2022. Though she had moved out of the area, Brampton is where three of her five children were born and where she spent most of her career teaching special needs children then grade one at Eastbourne Drive PS. Lois' husband of more than sixty years, Eric, predeceased her in 2015.

She will be dearly missed by her five children (Jane, Sandra, Jeffrey, Lisa, Ann), her grandchildren, and her two precious great-grandchildren that brought her much joy in her later years.

Lois was an accomplished artist, gardener, wildflower photographer and schoolteacher with a passion for reading historical fiction, singing, winning at Scrabble and a variety of card games. She loved nature and animals, and was a compassionate, interested member of society, contributing to many charities and worthy causes. Her favourites were the World Wildlife Fund, the Heart and Stroke Foundation and Covenant House.

A life well lived.

There isn't a time I can remember where you said you couldn't do something or wouldn't try something. The words "look it up" ring in my ears every time I have a question, which has served me well in my life and career. What it taught me is it is on me to satisfy my curiosity, to learn what I did not know - to always be independent.

When dad passed so many things happened that I am grateful you were still there to be part of. The birth of your great grandchildren. Celebrating your 90th birthday watching Come From Away in Toronto followed by dinner of seafood and steak at The Keg.

I think of you daily, and post mental reminders to tell you this or that. We'll have a lot to catch up on when we do meet again, as I imagine you and dad are now.

Love you always and forever mom, rest in peace.

Grandma you will be missed dearly. Your memory lives on in our hearts. We were so blessed to have you in our lives for as long as we did. You were there for some of my biggest milestones and I will cherish that always. The kids love and miss you. I know how much you loved hearing about what they were up to in school. Camila came home the other day and told me when her teacher asked if there was anyone they wanted to pray for, she told them her Great Grandma who is now in Heaven. Rest in peace Grandma. I love you and will think of you until we meet again.

She sang operetta songs of Gilbert and Sullivan. Learned the accordion with me at 8. Bought me my first guitar case. Carved crab apple dolls with us for crafts. Took whatever life threw at her with a smile and let´s do this attitude. Walked around the house smelling of oil paints and turpentine. Painted Christmas cards every year, something she knew we´d like. Taught me my love of books right up to the end. Always on the lookout for a good story to read. Railed against technology even though advanced in years, learned how to use it. She never stopped being interested in the world. Adventures to ancient Viking lands, walking in the Haida Gwai rainforest. Living on the Agave Coast. Building magazine worthy gardens always with a water feature. Always moving. Curious and engaged. She was a force of nature. I will miss you, mom. Hope you´re dancing with dad.
