Steve Halfyard

Born April 12, 1959 Orillia, ON, Died May 16, 2023 Hamilton, ON. The tall kid who grew up in Peel Village passed away peacefully after challenging cancer for over two years. Steve was very well known in the academic and community amateur sporting circles around Brampton and the southern Ontario region. A proud supporting father to Devon, Kiera and Reese. Predeceased by his mother Shirley, survived by his father Bruce, sister Charlene Byrne (Mike), brothers Gary (Jane) and Glenn (Sandy) and nieces and nephews, Allison (Dave), Taylor, Lauren (Jordon), Connor, Bryan and Brittany. Steve maintained a remarkable positive outlook and was steadfastly courageous during the medical treatment journey. The family sincerely thanks all the medical professionals who assisted Steve while in care at Princess Margaret Hospital, Toronto, ON Juravinski Hospital and Dr. Bob Kemp Hospice Hamilton, ON. The funeral service will take place on Wednesday, May 24, 2023 at the McKersie & Early Funeral Home, 114 Main Street East, Milton, ON. A visitation from noon to 1 p.m. with the service at 1 p.m. followed by a reception, a private family internment will take place at a later date.
