Domenico ARCARI Obituary

ARCARI, Domenico Antonio May 23, 1925 -November 22, 20 13 . . Passed away peacefully at home in North Vancouver, B.C. surrounded by his loving family. Born in Sepino Campobasso Italy. He was predeceased by sons; Marioangelo, Antonio, sister; Giuseppina, brother; Cristino (Giussepina), sister in-law Rosa. He is survived by his loving wife of 60 years; Irene, daughter; Anna (Colin) and son; Marino. Grandchildren; John, Jennifer and Matthew, as well as numerous nieces, nephews and extended family and friends. Tony left Italy in the late 40's to find a new life in Buenos Aries, Argentina where he married his beloved wife Irene. In 1966 he moved to North Vancouver, B.C. to raise his family, where many of his fellow friends and family from Sepino had made their homes. Tony's passions were gardening, wine making and soccer. He was a life time devotee to his beloved Saint Cristina travelling to Sepino, Italy several times to take part in the festival. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Heart and Stroke Foundation. A prayer service will be held Wednesday December 4th, 2013 at 7:00pm at St Edmunds Parish, 545 Mahon Avenue, North Vancouver. A Mass of Christian Burial will be held Thursday December 5th, 2013 at 12:00pm, followed by Entombment at Ocean View Burial Park. The family extends a special thank you to Dr. Paul Sugar (Dottore Zucchero), special care giver and friend Alma as well as Juliet, John, Yuka, Johanna, Lucia and Domi. We will see you again one day Papa-Nonno, till then you will always be in our hearts. You were a grand champion of life. Hollyburn Funeral Home 604-922-1221

Domenico, always Mr. Arcari to me, was a strong good man who made Canada a better place. Blessed with a wonderful sense of humour, a sparkle in his eye and an incredible capacity for hard work, he inspired everyone to push themselves to their fullest as family members, friends and workers. If only there were more people like him …

So sorry to hear about the loss of your Dear father and husband Domenico,I remember him fondly when I lived in the downstairs of your home on 14th.He really loved his garden and always gave me some of the veggies as he was so proud of them.He was a gentle kind man and always laughing.
