Ken VanDriel Obituary

Ken was born on January 23, 1961, and the Lord called him home suddenly on August 22, 2020, in his 59th year. He was predeceased by his parent, Kees and Ann; and his brother, Jackie. He leaves behind his brother, Ron (Janna); sister, Joanne Marees (Wayne); nephews, Nathan, Daryl, Todd, Ruben, and Alexander; nieces, Janelle, Justine, and Jessica; as well as their spouses and children. We are thankful for God's provision for each day of Ken's life and are comforted knowing that he lived a full life until his last breath. We smile knowing his baseball cap has been replaced by a crown of glory!

Very sorry to hear of his passing, and express my condolences to the family. Ken, a co-worker at Oakmont Industries loved his hockey, and was a walking encyclopedia of statistics. May he rest in peace.

We would like to express our condolences to the VanDriel family. I first got to know Ken when I would occasionally give him a ride home after young adults events, way back in the early ‘80s. More recently, before we moved to Surrey, I spoke regularly with him after church.

It has been a pleasure to get to know Ken these last 10+ years as a quiet, gentle, kind presence in our congregation. Shocked to hear of his sudden passing. He will be missed in our church family. Condolences to the VanDriel family. May you know God's grace and peace, Pastor Andrew
