Although we were not ready, Dad's wings were and he is now reunited with Mom (Joan), the love of his life, who left us in 2018. Dad was predeceased by son Wayne in 2014, brothers Clayton, Arnold, Walter and sister, Helene. He leaves behind a brother Harold (Sandra) and us, his daughters Debbie Whyte (Roy), Brenda Rahn (Mike) and Karen Van Doormaal (Brian). He was the most loved Grandpa of Lisa, Kelly, Mandee, Steven, Matt, Mitchell, Cody and Dylan and Great Grandpa of 6 with another on the way. A plasterer by trade, he went on to be the 1st in the area to graduate from the, then newly minted Ontario Police College in Aylmer and started his career as a beat cop on the Galt Police Force. With the amalgamation of the police departments in the region, he became a Detective and specialized in forensic identification for WRPA. Upon his retirement from the force, he soon returned in a civilian capacity retiring in 1992. A graveside service will be held for both Mom and Dad at their resting place, Mount View Cemetery, 80 Blenheim Road, Cambridge on Monday June 5 at 1:00 pm. Our family would like to extend our gratitude to the OPP, Wellington Fire and Paramedics for their empathy and support. In lieu of flowers, a kind donation can be made to the Heart and Stroke Foundation or a
Charity of Your Choice.
