Janet HAMILTON Obituary

Passed away peacefully, surrounded by the love of her family, on Friday March 10, 2023, at the age of 81. Loving and devoted wife of Larry, who together shared 60 years of marriage. Cherished mother of Stephen Hamilton (Janice) and Laura Alessio (Michael). Proud grandmother of Alexandra and Nicholas Hamilton and Emily and Luke Alessio. Janet will also be sadly missed by her sisters-in-law, Fran Ball of Guelph, Marg Hamilton of Winnipeg, and Dorothy Hoch (Paul) of Amberley, as well as her nieces, nephews, extended family, and friends. Predeceased by her parents Helen and Leslie Ball and her brother Gary. Janet was employed by the Waterloo County Board of Education as an Office Administrator for 25 years. She was a longtime member of the Cedar Hill United Church, Cambridge, where she was involved with the United Church Women (UCW). She spent many years volunteering with the Cambridge Aquajets. Janet loved camping and spending time at her beloved cottage in Honey Harbour. Her and Larry had the opportunity to travel the world, making it to five continents. She had a passion for photography and scrapbooking, however her greatest joy was the time spent with her beloved family and her circle of wonderful friends. Resting at Corbett Funeral Home, 95 Dundas St., Cambridge, where family and friends will be received on Thursday March 16, 2023, from 2-4 and 7-9 p.m. Funeral Services will be held at Cedar Hill United Church, 241 Cedar St, Cambridge, on Friday March 17, 2023, at 11 a.m. A private interment will be held at a later date. In lieu of flowers, donations made to Myositis Canada would be greatly appreciated by the family.

Dear Larry, Laura and Stephen,
We wish to extend our deepest sympathy on the recent loss of Janet. We have many fond memories of our winter break trips to Myrtle Beach and Gulf Shores, Alabama with your family, the Footes and others. Janet was a warm, caring generous person who will be greatly missed by all who loved her.
You are in our thoughts and prayers.

My deepest condolences to Larry and family at this difficult time. While I only knew janet the last 4 years at Riverside Glen, l thoroughly enjoyed working with her and getting to know the wonderful person that she was. I could always count on her for insightful conversation, a shoulder to cry on and an ear to listen. She and Larry will forever hold a special place in my heart. God Bless
