John Jolly Obituary

John Nelson Jolly, 81, passed away peacefully in the morning of February 7, 2022, at Hilltop Manor in Cambridge.
He is missed and loved so very much by his wife of 29 years, Brenda (Evans) Jolly; his stepchildren, Kelly Fonseka (Marcel) and Jeffrey Gilks. Proud Papa to Lauryn, Jenna, Paige and Cole. Brother to Shirley (Al) and Birdie who he looked up to his whole life. His niece Lynn (Jay) who he thought of as his baby sister. All of his family (nieces and nephews) and friends who he loved and cared for.
John was born and raised in St. Catharines, Ontario the youngest of five and the son of Nelson and Edna Jolly. He is predeceased by his sisters Barbara and Jane. He was a naval officer and owner of his own contracting business for many years.
He was a proud man who loved to play cards, scrabble, bowl and spend time with his family. We will miss his jokes and smiles.
He often mentioned how much he missed his Mom and although it's a sad time for our family we take comfort in the thought that he is with her now.
The impact he has made in our lives will not be forgotten. There will be tears but more importantly there will be smiles and laughs for all the memories we have had together.
A celebration of John's life will be held in the summer and more information will be provided closer to the date. In lieu of flowers donations can be made to the Alzheimer's society.
