Maria DA SILVA Obituary

DA SILVA, Maria Amelia Maria Amelia da Silva went home to be with her Lord and Saviour suddenly and peacefully on Sunday, May 20. Born on February 18, 1931 in Feteiras, Sao Miguel, Azores to Jose and Maria Gloria da Silva Ferreira, Maria immigrated to Cambridge in 1957. She was a talented seamstress, a devoted wife of 63 years, a caring mother, and the world's best grandmother. She was predeceased by her daughter Pauline Silva, brothers Manuel, Jose (Maria da Luz), and Angelo, sisters Maria Jose (Liberal Batista) and Maria Gloria (Jose da Rosa), sister-in-law Margarida (Jose de Oliveira), and brother-in-law Jose da Costa. She is survived by her husband Fernando Manuel, daughter Lorina Maria da Costa (Tony), granddaughters Elleni, Chloe, and Sarai da Costa, grandson Shane Trimm (Christy), great-grand-children Kaleb, Abigail, and Cain, sister Maria Romana, and sisters-in-law Lourdes and Neves. A Funeral Service will be held on Thursday, May 24 at 11:00 a.m. at Good News Church, 215 South St., Cambridge. Maria Amelia loved the Lord God with all her heart, soul, and mind and served Him faithfully. Her family will miss her dearly but they look forward to being reunited with her one day in eternity. 1 Timothy 2:5-6: For there is one God and one mediator between God and mankind, the man Christ Jesus, who gave Himself as a ransom for all people.
