Ronna POWER Obituary

It is with sad hearts that we say goodbye to our beautiful, feisty, independent, and caring mother. Ronna Power passed away at Cambridge Memorial Hospital on December 8, 2020, surrounded by the loving thoughts of her family. Predeceased by her husband, Martin Power, the love of her life, and to whose waiting arms she has been returned. Also predeceased by her daughter, Sharon Dowdy, and her grandsons, Brandon and Jordan Blackmore, all taken too soon. Loving mother of Cathy McMurran (Wade), Debby Olney (Trent), Peter Blackmore (Ruth), Patricia Blackmore (Brian), Bob Blackmore (Theresa), and loving stepmother to Linda Power and John Power (Barb). Cherished grandmother of Cara, Ben, Kyle, Brandon, Jordan, Melissa, Matthew, Quinn, Riley, Travis, Sarah, Emilie, Conor and Abram. Proud great-grandmother (GG) of 19 and great-great-grandmother of 2 children who brought her much joy and laughter. Ronna enjoyed spending time with her family and friends and during her retirement, volunteering at the Canadian Legion. She will be remembered for her kindness and her sense of humour. Deep thanks and appreciation to the staff at CMH and Bayshore for their devotion to their patients and their compassionate care. Cremation has taken place at Ronna's request. A celebration of Ronna's life will take place in the spring. As expressions of sympathy, donations to Lisard House or to the Legion (Branch 121) would be appreciated by the family.

We were very sad to hear of Ronna’s passing, especially during this very isolating time. We are in-laws of Cara, and got to know Ronna and the rest of the family during special get togethers. I must say this about Ronna, from day one she welcomed us into the family with genuine warmth and we shared many lively conversations and laughter with her. I was sad to hear of her passing and at the same time felt relief for her, as her suffering was over. She has left behind a great legacy in her great family. May you Rest In Peace Ronna.
