Sept. 10, 1949 ~ Aug 23, 2025
It is with heavy hearts that we announce the untimely passing of Dino Francis Martin at TBRHSC with his family by his side. Dino was born on Sept. 10, 1949 in Azzano Decimo, Italy to parents Nisio and Rosa Martin. At the tender age of 13 months, Dino and his mother set out across the Atlantic Ocean to Montreal and from there to Fort William to reunite with and for the first time meet his father. Following his education, Dino began his career with Thunder Bay Telephone Company (TBaytel) retiring after 35 years of service. Dino couldn't wait for NASCAR season to start. He would watch all the races on TV and his love of the sport took him and his cohorts on many road trips to enjoy the sights, sounds and smell of the race track. He was an avid reader, enjoyed various word games and watching major tennis matches. Dino looked forward to his visits to BC to see his daughter and grandchildren, his weekly visit from his son Dennis and fishing trips to his sister's camp and family dinners and celebrations. Dino was predeceased by his parents Nisio and Rosa. Dino is survived by and will be missed by daughter Elaine (Steve Butcher), son Dennis, devoted sisters Ada and Mary (Brian Marrion) and adoring grandchildren Jayden and Chloe Butcher. As per Dino's wishes cremation has taken place and a private family graveside service held. Donations in memory of Dino can be made to TBRHSC or the
Charity of Your Choice.
