Mr. A. J. 'Baldy' Ylinen age 73 years, a resident of Red River Road, passed away peacefully with family at his side in the T.B.R.H.S.C. on Tuesday, February 8, 2005. Baldy was born in Port Arthur on January 26, 1932 and lived here all of his life. He was employed with Provincial Papers Ltd. for 35 years, retiring in June of 1990. He was a member of the Provincial Papers Athletic Association and their Quarter Century Club. He had a great passion for all sports whether it be playing, watching, supporting or 'critiquing'. His main devotion was to his family and he was actively involved in all aspects of their lives. Of course the Red Wings followed in a close 2nd position. He will be lovingly remembered by his children: Bill (Patricia), Cindy (Denis) Lamontagne, Ted, and Lori (Mark) Richard; grandchildren: Carlton, Jessica, Stefan, Devin, Brennan, Ryleigh, and Darcy; in-laws Rick (Donna), Allan and Teddy Guerard, nieces and nephews Tammy (Ron), Tina (Cory) and Rick (Arlene) and adopted daughter Clemance (Paul) and their families. He was predeceased by his loving wife Gerry, parents Lily and Verner, in-laws Glady and Ted Guerard, nephews Allan and Terry Guerard and long time friend Bud McDowell. Funeral services will be held on Monday, February 14th when family and friends will gather in Corpus Christi R.C. Church for the Funeral Mass beginning at 11:00 a.m. celebrated by Rev. Richard Kowalchuk. As expressions of sympathy memorials to the Canadian Cancer Society, Canadian Diabetes Association or the charity of choice would be appreciated.
