Aaltje Mol Obituary

April 3, 1924 to November 15, 2008 My command is this, 'Love each other as I have loved you. ' John 15:12 This captured the essence of our beautiful Mom, Oma, sister and friend, Aaltje (Alie) Mol. Loving her family, regretfully leaving them, but longing to see her Lord, Mom passed away peacefully on Saturday November 15, 2008. Born and raised in the Netherlands, she moved with her parents and siblings to Portage La Prairie, Manitoba just following World War II. In 1951, she married Klaas Mol after moving to Fort William, Ontario. Family was important to her and she loved to entertain people at her home. She was proud of her family and championed their achievements to anyone who would listen. She loved to sing and to listen to choral music. Alie was an active member of Hope Christian Reformed Church. Alie is sadly missed by children Allan and wife Margaret, Henry and wife Jenny, Cathy Blekkenhorst and husband Art, Jim and wife Wilma, all of Thunder Bay, grandchildren, Christina, Erica and husband Russ Clugston of Ottawa, Scott, Clark, Gabrielle, Madeline, Kevin, Robert (Kristen), Gary (Breena), Brian (Robyn), Derek, Sheleen, Erik, Jason, Ali, Sabrina, Kyle, Michelle, Nicole, Ian, great-granddaughters Mackenzie and Zoe Clugston, sister Joan and Louie Vellinga, brothers Cor and Tina Janssens (Strathroy, ON), Leo and Trudy Janssens (Saskatoon, SK), Hank and Anneke Janssens (Woodstock, ON), and sisters- in- law, Maria Janssens and Anneke Janssens. Numerous other relatives survive here in Canada and in the Netherlands. She was predeceased by her husband Klaas Mol, to whom she was married for 54 years and missed to the day she died, parents Gezina and Hendrik Janssens, brothers Jim, Hilke, and Cecil Janssens. Services will be held at Hope Christian Reformed Church at Francis and Crawford Ave on Wednesday, November 19, 2008 at 1:30pm with Pastors Bob Vance and Russ Clugston officiating. Private interment will take place at Stanley Hill Cemetery prior to the service. Visitation will be held on Tuesday, November 18, 2008 from 7:00 pm to 9:00 pm in Hope Christian Reformed Church. In honor of Alie, read your Bible daily, love your family and gather them around you. Memorial donations to Thunder Bay Christian Community Centre or Hope Christian Reformed Church would be greatly appreciated. A tree will be planted in memory of Aaltje Mol in the Blake Funeral Chapel Memorial Grove. Annual dedication service Sunday, June 28, 2009.
