Agnes McDonald Obituary
Mrs. Agnes Bridson McDonald (nee Lind), age 94 years, died peacefully on December 9, 2010 at Hogarth Riverview Manor‚ Agnes was born in Fillmore, SK, on August 24, 1916 to James and Isabella (Pringle) Lind‚ She spent her teen years in Keewatin, ON, andproudly graduated fromPAGH School of Nursing‚After graduating, she met and married Dan McDonald‚ Agnes and Dan lived together at their home on Ambrose Street foralmost 60 years‚ Agnes workedas a pediatric nurse, and many of her coworkers also became lifelong friends‚ She was an avid curler and sports fan, particularly enjoying watchingbaseball, hockey, and men's curling on television‚ She got great pleasure from watchingbirds visit her backyard gardens, and also enjoyed baking and knitting for her family‚ Agnes was happiest after a long chat with loved ones, and kept in touch by phone and letter with family and friends over the years until declining health interfered‚ Agnes is survived by her sons Thomas (Patricia) and Daniel (Valerie), both of Thunder Bay‚She was a doting grandmother to Tammy, Tommy and Danna (Iain), as well as any of their friends who came through herdoor. She was able to meet her great-grandaughter Gemma for the first time earlier this week‚ She is also survivedby sister-in-law Dorothy Lind of Virginia Beach, VA, and nieces and nephews in Canada and the US‚Agnes was predeceased by her husbandDan, brothers Stuart Lind and Dr. JamesLind, and beloved sisterMargaret (Peggy) Lind‚ Cremation has taken place and a private family service will be held‚ The family wishes to thank the staff at Hogarth Riverview Manor for the excellent care Agnes received, particularly as her health declined. In lieu of flowers, donations to Hogarth Riverview Manor would be much appreciated‚ Arrangements in care of the Sargent & Son Funeral Directors, 21 N. Court Street."
