Mr. Alan Malcolm, 71, passed away on July 2, 2022, at the Toronto General Hospital.
Alan was born on March 25, 1951, in Thunder Bay, ON. As a boy, he attended St. Margaret's school and split his high school days between Gron Morgan and Lakeview. He spent the majority of his career working for United Grain Growers where he was able to support a growing family. When he wasn't working he spent his time cheering for the NY Yankees, Boston Bruins, and the Raiders no matter what city they happened to be playing in that year. He loved music and was passionate about photography. It was common to find him behind a camera just off to the side of the action looking for the "genuine shots" as he always put it.
Alan was one of a kind and will be sadly missed and lovingly remembered by his family; his wife Jody, his sons and their families Arron (Kati, Sawyer, Koen) Colt (Lindsay, Aurora, Rehya), Chase (Seryna) and Nolan (Rune). Alan's mother Mary (Mickey) Malcolm, his siblings John (Gail), David (Claudette), Donald (Maureen), Gary, Joanne and Mary (Randall) Greg (Angela), and Gord, as well as extended family Kathy, Lynn (Tom), Debra, Tracy, Shawn, Leslie and many other family and friends.
He was predeceased by his father Bill Malcolm, sister Peggy, nephew Greg, and his brother-in-law's Lloyd, Ryne and Chooch. As well as his In-law's Frank and Roberta Gilliam.
The family would like to take this time to thank anyone who has sent gifts and well wishes, or who has stopped by and offered their support, it has been greatly appreciated in this difficult time.
A Celebration of Alan's Life will take place on Sunday, August 28th, 2022 at the North End Recreation Center from 5-8 pm.

Very sad to read of Allan passing. I have known him since playing little league baseball in Current River and over the years progressing from there well into out 30's on the fastball diamond. He was an ace pitcher and always seemed to come through in big games. The years with Sam the Record Man were most memorable. Afterwards each time we met it was always an enjoyable trip from the past. No doubt a couple old teammates are waiting with a starting position on a new mound. Please accept my condolences.
