ALAN SOLOWAY Obituary

ALAN SOLOWAY July 25, 1950 - August 17, 2025
With sadness, we announce the passing of our father, Alan Lorne Soloway, on August 17, 2025, at the age of 75.

Alan worked at Brewers Retail for over 30 years, was an avid canoeist, curler, golfer, choir vocalist and volunteered in the community.

Alan is survived by daughter, Arin (Jason), son, Adam (Allison and granddaughter Anna), brothers, Gordon (Kathy) and Neil (Bev), as well as nieces and nephews.

Predeceased by his wife, Aila.

As per Alan's wishes, cremation has taken place and there will be no funeral service.

We would like to express our thanks to EMS, fire, and police for their care.

If friends so desire, donations may be made to Thunder Bay Regional Health Science Centre.

Earlier today

I have known Alan since early teens when we played on the North End Junior fastball team with his Dad as the coach. Over the years we were part of a group of guys who got along well and continued with a few becoming his long time fellow workers. His tall slight physical stature (hence the nickname "weed") seemed incongruous with throwing around bottle cases but he did it with ease! He will be missed by many, RIP Weed!
