It is with heavy hearts that the families of Albert Reginald Bruce Henry announce the unexpected passing of their beloved husband, father, grandfather and great-grandfather on Tuesday, August 9th at the age of 79 while on a fishing trip. Reg was born and raised in Thunder Bay. As a young man, he was very adventurous and worked at many varied and interesting jobs, finally settling at Cargill Elevators and retiring in 1995. He loved family get togethers and was the life of the party. He always had projects on the go that included helping all his children with various home renovations, refinishing furniture and wine making. For a time, Reg was active in dog training, acquiring many titles and medals with his Bandit and Chance. He enjoyed camping, boating and fishing, hunting, golfing, skiing and was a die-hard Toronto Maples Leafs fan. He will be deeply missed by his wife Ruth, his children Debbie Bil (Frank), Barrie (Cheryl) and Louann Bateman (Jeff) and grandchildren Lisa Gibbs (Ashley), Jim Henry, Kevin Bil, Stephanie and Jason Bateman and great granddaughter Makayla (Gibbs), step children Connie, Ron, Roy (Adrienne), Derek and Colleen Dennison (Dave) and grandchildren Tracy, Katherine, Drake, Aubrey, Roy Jr., Amanda, Justin, Sebastian and Ruby Dennison, Jordan Murphy and Kyler Humeniuk. He will also be missed by his brother Frank, sisters Noreen Kelner, Velmae (Steve) Bush and Betty Ann Burn (Bill), sisters in-law Mary Small, Helen Koroll and Darlene Palahnuk and brother in-law Ed Palahnuk, along with many nieces and nephews. Reg was predeceased by his wife Betty (Palahnuk), son John, parents John and Alberta Henry and brother Bob. A celebration of Reg's life will be held on Tuesday, August 16 at 11:00 a.m. at West Thunder Community Centre, officiated by Henry Conrad. As expressions of sympathy, donations may be made in Reg's memory to the Heart and Stroke Foundation of Ontario. Arrangements have been entrusted to Northwest Funeral Alternative.
